We have finally hit three digits for Builder Database updates! #100 includes Duel Decks: Merfolk vs. Goblins as well as a first stab at the “DinOverhaul”.
Since Ixalan came out, a lot of older cards have received Oracle text updated to include Dinosaur as a creature type, among other changes. Since we are also missing some arts of basic lands and alternate arts of a few cards from earlier sets, I figured we’d fully overhaul the older cards with their current rulings and flesh out the arts. It was a bigger task than we’d anticipated, but as of now, 8th Edition, Dragons of Tarkir, and Tempest Remastered are fully updated, while Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, and Revised have updated Oracle text (no alt arts as of yet). I still have a while to go, but as of now, your sweet Beta Fungusaur can be found as a dinosaur!
As new sets get added to Gatherer in the near future (i.e. Iconic Masters, Unstable), you’ll see Oracle text changes across the whole database to get all the Dinosaurs in order.
